Hello All,

I am a customer of HDFC Bank Limited and I have availed a loan in the amount of Rs.310, 000 from your bank with an EMI of 10, 899 every month payable on the 4th of every month. I have been making timely payments on the 4th of every month and due to some unforeseen medical expenses I could not make the EMI due on the 4th of May'2011.

I called your customer care department and informed that I am unable to pay and the same will be paid on the 30th of May'2011 along with the check bounce charges and the penalty. I think as a customer I must be given the time frame required considering the situation.

Having said the above the collection department guys started calling me for the payment and I picked the phone and informed them that I will make the payment on the 30th of May'2011. However, they refused to hear me and harassed with 10 to 15 calls every day from the following numbers 914461003150, 914461002850, 914461040200, 91446104000 and the list can go on. Are these people employed by you illiterates??? Can't they understand English?? Not to stop here on the 28th of May'2011 I have received 53 calls from them... This is harassment and nothing else.

The saga does not end here. They called a reference number provided by me for 23 times and informed them about my loan due payment. How can you even do this??? This is against the law to disclose about my credentials to a third party... These guys insane from some asylum???

What collections procedures are they following??? Which law says that you can call me and harass me for the payment though i have informed you guys. I don't think so that your agreement says that you can call me for 10000000000... times to collect a payment. This in in human. The people calling me do not even know the basic phone etiquette, nor they can speak English, they are just robots and a bunch of stupid illiterates.

I have just missed one payment and I think I have time till the end of the month of pay as far as i pay with the penalties. But no... call those people who are absconding... and do not trouble people who pay and keep the bank informed about the developments.

This is the most pathetic service i have every received and i would not recommend any of my colleagues to approach HDFC.

I am also writing my experience on all the social networking sites and also to the consumer grievances cell to address this issue. Believe me I will not hesitate to go the press or the media to tell my story.

As i write this email I have received another 3 calls on a Sunday. I can be reached at 919972217928
