Income Tax credit to wrong PAN

My Name is Sandeep kabra

I have received a demand letter from Income tax office for Assessment year 10 (FY 10) as they have not granted me credit for my advance tax payment for the said year.

In this regard, I want to clarify that I had deposited above advance income tax of Rs. 18, 053/- on 14th March with SBI Malad West branch. The same has been wrongly credited to other invalid PAN account by the bank instead of my PAN account.

Copy of advance tax challan and SBI letter confirming and certifying the payment had been filed with IT dept.

On inquiry with Income tax office, they have suggested that the Bank should rectify the above error to reflect income tax credit in my PAN Account in Form 26-AS available on NSDL website failing which they will not reverse demand liability or pass IT assessment order for 10 and subsequent years.

I am facing serious issues in dealing with subsequent year assessments and have been asked to deposit the demand as soon as possible.

I, therefore, sincerely request you to kindly help in the matter.
