My experience with L.I.C (Life Insurance Corporation Of India) has been pathetic. It seems that the concerned insurance company does not even care about their customer base who like to utilize the modern technologies for getting prompt services. True, they have created a fancy websites, put on an IVR system but Customer Service, sorry to say, UTTER RUBBISH.
I am banging my head from pillars to posts to get info about an LIC Policy created 3 years back. I had failed to pay the premium and hence i was worried that the policy might lapse. I am presently in the city beautiful Chandigarh. I work with an MNC, my work schedule is hectic and can not afford to visit the LIC offices to get my query clarified.
On their website 90% of the contact numbers do not work. Few that do, says to me that my policy number is invalid, when the same policy number is being displayed on the website.
Come on LIC... admit that you have failed to keep up with the pace of modern world and you still expect people to carry their load all the way to the "babus" and get their business done.
This is a shame for such an old company.
