I saw an advt. on internet regarding project/mortgaged loan @4% per annum. I called up the no. 9566342960 & 9994117316 and the person replied told his name as Mr. Chandru and he told me that they are from chettiar Community of Karrai Kudi, Tamil Naidu. He asked for the details of the property to be mortgaged with its katha no. and our identity proof. After that he said I will take you on conference call with my CA mr. Swaminathan. His CA told me that we are from chettiar communit and we are settle gobally and we are money conversion people. After verifying my documents they approved the loan of 18 crores as 85% of my property value. He said that we are direct people not agent so you don't have to pay anything to us in advance, no processing fee, No commission, No DD charges but you have to pay 2/3rd of the amount (12lacs) as stamp paper charges. He said that amount has to be in cash as stamp papers are purchased from treasury in cash only. We said it is difficult to carry that much cash till chennai, We can pay through cheque/DD. but they refused to accept. He said as karrai Kuddi (HQ) is in rural area vary far so we call our guest to chennai. We told them we have arranged the money in Chennai through our business associate but we will buy the stamp papers through our lawyer from the treasury. Initially he tried to convince me that when you will come we will give you the sanction letter, draft of agreement and the receipt of amount paid by you for stamp paper and also give you a cheque as security of your amount but we will buy the stamp paper through our agent only. He said we are the money lenders and will not work on your terms and conditions. It put me in doubt because stamp papers have to be purchased on our name then why do they have problem if we will buy or they will. If stamp papers are required then how does it matters who will buy? Then I tried to enquire about the no. to whom I was talking and found that the 9994117316 was on the name Rameshbau S, 44A 99 thiruvotriur, chennai and the other no. 9566342960 was registered on Solamanraja S, 6/56 Kakambakkam.
Post, Thiruvallur, Chennai. My doubt was confirmed as these people told me that they stay in Karrai Kudi and but their telephonic records were showing that they are from Chennai and even the name were different. I refused to work on their terms and conditions, I told them if you agree then I will buy the stamp Papers myself. They said they will confirm but they never turned back. My aim is to make everybody aware of them as they seems to be very genuine as they are not charging anything in advance.
If anyone who has suffered the same can contact me as they are ruining the name of Noble Chettiars of Nattukottai who were famous money lenders of 18th centuries and using their name to befool people.
