I purchased a Sumo grande from Joshi Auto Zone Chandigarh on 23 Jan 09. Whn i purchased the vehicle my father went their to take deliver from Rohtak Haryana and reached there at 11 AM but he was shown the vehicle at 6 PM in evening in dark. When we saw the vehicle in the morning we found that the interiors were dirty with stains on roof and seats. the same was conveyed to Joshi Auto Zone telephonically. The vehicle also had funny feature which were not part of any of the variants. At a lter stage we came to know that various features that were provided did not vene have switch to operate them.
I me with a major accident in Lucknow and when i took the vehicle to TATA authorised service station in Lucknow, to my surprise they asked me to pay in advance the repair cost despite a cashless policy. I was in for more surprise when i came to know that Joshi Auto Zone has fooled me in the giving a policy in name of cashless policy which actually was cashless only at Joshi Auto Zone.
Finally i had to send the vehicle to Joshi Auto Zone Chandigarh paying over rs 10000.00. Jashi Auto Zone took over 2 months to repair the vehicle. when i went to take the delivery i was asked to provide a copy of FIR, which i was never asked for while giving the vehicle for repair. i was refused the delivery despite no such provision which necessitated me to provide one as there was no third party loss. i finally had to take help of Local Police to get my vehicle.
the vehicle had numerous problems which i came to know subsequently. The repair was bad and joshi Auto Zone had resorted to cheating wherein they had repaired a major part and charged for its replacement which was worth approximately rs 20000.00. There were many more problems which were brought to the notice of Joshi Auto Zone and TATA motors.
TATA Motors till date, after over two years of delay have made numerous attempts of repairing my vehicle to my satisfaction but has filed in doing so. my vehicle had been with their service stations for almost over 8 months leaving me without any vehicle on numerous occasions.
The condition is so bad that they have tried to change the roof lining 6 times but everytime they could manage only a defective roof. finally they changed the roof lining with the least damaged one. the dashboard had to be changed and they changed it with a dashboard with different shade. Mr Girish Deshpande, a very senior person in TATA Motors told me that they probably have changed the shade of interiros and i will have to live with this different shade dashboard.
The engine is being making excessively high noise which they say cannt be repaired and technically isnt a fault as the vehicle is working normally. Sitting inside it appears as if i am sitting on a tractor.
The electricals of the vehicle had been giving problem and i have to frequently visit the service station for some or the other problems. To my estimate the amount spent in bringing my vehicle to acceptable level would have been over 2 lacs if i were to pay for all those. Now if this is the condition in forst two years i am afraid i will not be able to maintain the vehicle in future.
recently whicle driving, chasis of the vehicle gaveup and luckily for me i with my wife escaped a major life threatening accident that could have occured because of this. When i took the vehicle for the repairs i was fooled into believeing that the chassis broke due to accident, whic did not damage any other part, not even rim, and was asked to get the vehicle repaired in insurance. I complained of the same to TATA Motors and till date even after a delay of four months, they have not responded.
