Tata Motors / Tata Indica Xeta
Poor after sale service!

I bought a Tata Indica Xeta 1.2 on 8th Feb from one of the dealers of the Tata Cars, Vivek Automobiles located on Mathura Road, New Delhi.

Vivek Automobiles'S Promises while selling the Car to me.

They had promised to me that they would get the CNG fitted into my car. They suggested that I should run the cars for a month or so and then I should get the CNG fitted into my Tata Indica Xeta 1.2.

Vivek Automobiles of Tata Motors's Post Sell Service Experience.

It's been over 4 months since I bought the car and they have still not given the RC of the Car and no body bothered even to tell me the status of the RC card.

Every time I call them, they said that the delay was from the Sheikh Sarai Authority and not with them. I don't know whose responsibility it is to get the RC to me. Since the registration charge has been taken by the dealer, I guess they should get this done but as of now, I've not been given the Card.

I've been fined twice by the traffic police for not carrying the RC card.

When I called them (Vivek Automobiles), no body talks to me properly, their Manager, Prashant says he can not remember the customers' name and their complains. He even can not track who has got the RC and who has not. They don't seem to have any system in place for this. He talks very rudely.

I would request everybody to think 100 times before buying Tata Cars from Vivek Automobiles.

Now, the CNG Promise and their Status as of now.

After a month, I asked them to get the CNG done, but then I was told to wait for some time as the Tata Motors have taken the CNG fitment approval off from the Tata Indica Xeta 1.2.

Again when I called the Vivek Automobiles, then I had a word with their Manager Prashant who said that they have approval for the cars bought before March so according to him I was eligible to get the CNG fitted. He (Prashant) asked me to talk to Sahu of Shrimanker regarding this and when I talked to him then he (Sahu) said that he could get the CNG fitted but then that would not be done on paper.

How could I have got this done without legalizing this?

Now, again when I called Prashant for enquiring my RC card status, I also had a word with him regarding the CNG approval and he says he finally got the approval from the Tata Motors and the Govt. of India for getting the CNG fitted into Tata Indica Xeta 1.2.

He (Prashant of Vivek Automobile) said, I need to get a letter from the dealer of the Tata Motors and then I could get it fitted by the Shrimanker. But he refused to give me the letter saying the Vivek Automobiles, the dealer of Tata Motors are not issuing any letter. This sentence of his made me crazy as running the Indica on Petrol is costing 6k/month to me and there is a great loss that I've been incurring because of their false promises. Adding to my wound, Prashant recommends me getting the letter from A-one Motors.

Why would I beg other dealers to give me the letter where as my dealer is not ready to give me the letter?

Now, I really don't know what to do. They are not giving me the RC and also not issuing me the approval letter for CNG.

I would really request somebody from the Tata Motors or some higher official of Vivek Automobiles to pitch into this and help me out of this.

People in India has huge trust on Tata Motors and if their dealers would this way with their customers, then I don't know how long this trust level be maintained.

Animesh Kumar
