I shifted from Chennai to Faridabad and utilized Agarwal packers after considering their name.
Here are the lessons learnt
1) DONOT Pay in advance and neither give a post-dated check. Only after delivery verification and satisfaction of ALL items, make your payment.
2) Ask Agarwal packers to properly pay their packer staff and as staff ask for tips about 100 Rs. for each staff. Usually 4-5 staff memebers will come. If you ask them to come twice, they will ask tips twice.
3) Agarwal charges about 25% extra. You can definitely taken another decent packer and take pretty good insurance using this 25% money.
4) Agarwal will send a carpenter to survey and fix broken things. His fixing may not be up to your satisfaction but you will not have any other option.
5) At time of preparing packing slip and deciding insuarnce value, do not allocate any money for books, old used clots. Usually nothing happens to them. Put the value of actual cost for items like, TV, Refrigerator (MUST), AC (MUST), Water Filter, any ready made furniture which you bought from shop like Computer Table, Shoe rack.
6) Ask packers to clean the rooms properly at time of packing and unpacking before you hand-over the tips to them.
