I had booked a taxi from FAST TRACK, Chennai on June 8th evening for pick up from my residence at Adyar at 445 am vide booking no 2411. I was planning to catch the 6 am flight to Bangalore.

At 430 am I called up Fast Track to remind them on the booking that I had done for the taxi for reporting at 445 am and I was informed that the taxi was at Guindy (less than 3 kms) from my residence and that the car would report on time. When I called up at 450 am that the taxi had not turned up, I was informed that the taxi would report in 5 minutes. The same reply was given when I called again twice after 5 minutes interval. Since the taxi did not report till 5 am, I had to hire another taxi to reach airport. When I reached the Airlines counter at 521 am, I was told that the counter was closed and I had to miss my flight.

This is the second time that I have missed a flight due to callousness of call taxi service. The questions that come to my mind are:

1. Can the Call Taxi bear the loss suffered entirely on account of their pathetic service.

2. Even if a reminder to Call Taxi sufficiently prior to the scheduled time is not adequate, what is the recourse, other than using our own vehicle?

How can we make errant Call Taxi Services more responsible?
