Honda claims to be this sophisticated company that delivers excellent products as well as ensures world class customer services. Our recent unfortunate experience with Honda Seil Cars India (HSCI) suggests quite the opposite. Just to clarify, this is not about the dealers we have been involved with but this is strictly about the company. We booked a Jazz in September. Due to unforseen floods in Thailand, the production of Jazz and Brio suffered so much that no one could get those cars. That was fair cause and we waited patiently for our car. We had just moved back to India and wanted Jazz to be our first car. We waited patiently for 4 full months since feb was the time were promised. Dealers were unable to call us and give us the bad news that we won't be getting our car neither in feb nor in march. When pursued, the poor dealers themselves had no clue when exactly and how many cars will arrive. That was annoying and unprofessional on the part of Honda. What we were unable to understand was the secret around number of cars being issued to the dealers. Why wouldn't our dealer know when and how many cars they would receive? This causes so much inconvenience to the dealers and the customers. Now, even today our dealers have no clue how many cars will they receive for April. Moreover, they are not even sure if they will receive the cars as per the colour preferences or not. As on march, only some whites and urban titaniums (our choice) were released. No news on what all colours will be released in April until first week of April. That is so disturbing after a wait of 6 months. That is not what you expect from Honda. People do have great expectations from the company. The least they could do was to contact their unhappy potential customers and not just leave everything to the poor dealers, who themselves are helpless in the face of such 'secretive' information exchange. We have no idea if we will get our colour in april or may or june or when? The company just would not tell us. They would not even tell their dealers. Nor would they release cars as per dealers list of colours/models. Its all so strange and apparently illogical. How can a company not produce and issue based on the existing set of requirements? And still not back to normal??? Whatever happened to that press release stating that everything will be back to normal in march!! Now that was lies or what? I wish Honda never did this. I am not sure if I will ever come back to Honda after Jazz. And I would have walked out of it if it was not for Jazz. Skoda is good but customer service and repairs, if any, can cost a fortune. So Honda is the lesser devil. But then Honda is not expected to be devil. All the genuine issues related to production apart, they should have communicated with us and apologised for being so unpredictable. And that is the problem. I wish they were professional enough to compensate us for this inconvenience they caused. Hope its not just a wishful thinking.
