Sir,
I purchased one new Honda Activa on 12/02
and the Dealer Uday Honda, Adchini, New Delhi delivered the vehicle to get the vehicle registered on the next working day but it is strange to say that untill now i.e. on 17/2 they have not provided the vehicle regn. no. to me, Moreover, he has not given me the back number plate and on the front the dealer said the Regn. No. will be written on the body of the vehicle.
Moreover it is not certain when the above said dealer is going to get the vehicle registered with the Registration Authority as conveyed by their staff members. I hereby describe the ruling about registration as mentioned in website of the Directorate of Transport. Please ask the concerned person to get my vehicle registered at the earliest.
Although, UDAY HONDA have already Charged Rs.2, 649/- towards Regn. & Road Tax
Rs.370/- towards Smart Card Fee
Rs.250/- towards Number Plate Charges on 12/02
vide THEIR Invoice No.10IN01436 dated 12/02 and it not sure THEY are going the deposit the said amount to the Govt. creating unnecessary delay and loss to the Transport Department.
Vehicle Registration
Why the registration of vehicle is necessary?
The vehicle can be driven or allowed to be driven in public place only after registration by registering authority as under the provision of section 39 of motor vehicle Act 1988.
After allocation of registration numbers, fee receipt is given to the applicant on the same day and above documents are kept by the zonal office. The registration fee receipt can be retained as proof of having made an application for registration.
Q4 Can dealer deliver vehicle without registration?
No, the dealer cannot deliver unregistered vehicles to the customers. The dealer gets the vehicle registered in the name of customer first then will hand over the vehicle to the customer. If Un-registered vehicle is found plying on the road shall be liable to be prosecuted under MV Act. A trade certificate is issued to the dealers by the Transport Department to drive the unregistered vehicles upto the zonal office for registration purposes only.
After allocation of registration numbers, fee receipt is given to the applicant on the same day and above documents are kept by the zonal office. The registration fee receipt can be retained as proof of having made an application for registration.
