Ideal Home Relocations, bangalore
Cheated by Packers and Movers

I am Prodipta Hore. When I got a new job abroad, I had to relocate from Bangalore to Asansol, my home town in West Bengal. Since I had to travel out of country on 27th August so I decided to move out of Bangalore on 22nd August. I contacted Sulekha Yellow pages and Just Dial on 12th of July to get quotes from different packers and movers and wanted to send my luggage in advance so that I could receive them in Asansol in time.rch for some good packers and movers in Bangalore. I received calls and numbers from different packers and movers. I asked some packers and movers to come home to see the goods which they need to take and give the estimate. On 15th of July, the marketing manager of Ideal Home Relocations, Bangalore came to our home. His name is Rakesh Kumar. His phone number is 9986890146. He was speaking very professionaly and said that they have branches all over the country including Kolkata. He gave an estimate of Rs.16100/-.This packers and movers agreed to take the goods from our home on 11th August and deliver it at Asansol on 22nd. August. Rakesh told that only service tax of 10.36% we need to pay extra. We checked the same with other packers also and found the terms and conditions are same like him. So we finalized to go for Ideal home relocations. He demanded the 80% of the money at Bangalore itself, and the remaining on delivery.

On 11th August morning 8pm, 3 persons came from ideal home relocations to take our goods. They brought a small vehicle and some ver cheap quality stuff for packing. After they finished packing they carried the things to the vehicle which they got. We got totally confused when Rakesh came up with a bill of 49000/- instead of Rs.16100/-. They said that the luggage was excess and and we have to give the packing, loading, unloading, insurance and check post charges extra. I argued with him for long time as he told as that we don’t need to pay anything extra other than the service tax. He told that he didn’t say that. Then we decided not to give our goods to this packers and we informed them the same, then Rakesh called up and said they need Rs. 5000/- for packing, loading and unloading if we are cancelling. Finally he agreed for Rs. 33000/-to go ahead with the deal and and insurance of Rs.3000 over Rs. 100000 worth goods. I paid him Rs. 15000/- and as told by him transferred Rs.13800/-to the bank account of Mr. Ashok Kumar, Account no: 028701000096 (ICICI, Bangalore) thus clearing 80% of the total and the remaining Rs. 7200/- on delivery. He told that he will give us the driver’s phone number and vehicle number, but he didn’t give that also.

On requesting repeatedly around 20th of August he gave me a web site and consignment number and asked me to check on the net. On checking I realised that it was Blue Dart. It was wriiten on the site the delivery date as 25th on August and got to know that the luggage instead of being delivered from Bangalore on 12th August was delivered on 18th August.

Finally I received my goods on 25th August afternoon. But in between Rakesh kept on calling me to say that if I do not pay the balance ammount in bank then the goods will not be delivered. Finding no other way out I had to pay the balance Rs.7200 and the nearest ICICI bank in Asansol on the account number of the same person Mr. Ashok Kumar. On receiving my goods I realised that my Godrej Almirah was not there. I called him up immediately and on checking he told me that it was left by mistake in Bangalore and I would receive it within next 5 working days. When I started opening my goods I found that they were badly damaged and all the crockeries were broken into pieces. On checking the bill with Blue Dart I realised that a sum of Rs.12500/- has been paid to them for this transfer of goods from Bangalore to Asansol. Thus now it seems that he has made a profit of over Rs.30000/- from this trasfer. The almirah did not reach my residence as yet. Whenever I try to call him I find his mobile is switched off. I am helpless since it is not possible for me to go back to country right now tp chase him. I have been badly cheated by
