Non alloaction of lower berth to aged pasenge

My friend, Mrinal Sen was travelling with his mother, Smt. N.R. Sen, 76 years old, on 8616 Hatia-Howrah express on 18.12.2009 by AC First Class. At the time of booking, the status was shown as confirmed (PNR: 6235549824). However, on arriving at the station, it was found that both the berths were alloted as upper berths.

Usually, the berth allotment in First Classes is done by the railway staff manually from the originating station. However, inspite of Smt. Sen's age, she was not alloted a lower berth.

The Railway staff in charge of these allocations should be more sensible while alloting berths.
