I stay in pune currently since 5 years.
I originally belong to ahmedabad. I travel frequently between pune and ahmedabad as it is overnight journey.
Since many year there is only one train from pune to ahmedabad on friday. In fact train is from Mysore to Ajmer. I have witnessed many people travel from pune to ahmedabad and vice cersa over weekends. But due to train un-availability people have to travel via mumbai ALWAYZ. We can request indian railway to have atlease 1 or more train start from pune to ahmedabad on friday. I am sure there is heavy traffic between ahmedabad to pune over weekends. Train starts from pune on friday evening and reaches ahmedabad saturday morning will make people's lives easy.
