MICHELIN TYRES
Defective new tyre

I bought a Honda City in Nov from Classic Honda Faridabad (Delhi NCR, India). During suspected puncture on one of the Michelin tyres in January I observed a 1 inches bulge/bubble on the inner side wall. The car just drove 2100 KM and less than three months then.

I complained to Michelin Delhi through the dealer and Michelin representative inspected the tyre on 11th Feb. He summarily wrote that the fault is due to "hitting potholes". (Inspection report no. 103883 dated 11.02.2011) This is the most silly excuse I ever heard as I have myself drove the car in Delhi and always at low speeds of 40-50 km/hr. My car milage of 14.9 KM/hr indicates this.

It is most unfortunate that Michelin wants to excuse itself from a manufacturing defect in its car blaming instead the customer. The attitude of Classic Honda also remained pathetic to say the least.

Nonetheless, I will surely take the matter to its logical conclusion (even if it means fighting my case in consumer courts) where Michelin will be brough to justice.
