Took my car in to replace the tie rod ends, I'd like to say that "Rex" was the mechanic's name who I dealt with, what this mechanic does, is that he charges you double for the parts on top of the labor. Labor of course is understood, but every part he calls in, he doubles the amount for each part, in my case they Tie rod ends were about 39 dollars each, about 100 dollars for both after taxes, he charged me 200 for them. I caught him in the act when the delivery person collected a check from him for the amount of approximately 100 bucks which was how much he was actually paying for the parts and once again double charged me. The next day I confirmed that amount with the delivery person who happened to be at same clinic I went to the next day.
This shop also told me that I needed to replace my shocks once every year, I called around for prices on the shocks and it was in fact true that he the quote he gave me for the parts was in fact double the amount. I took my car to the dealer to confirm the shocks and they said that these shocks are typically good for at least 3000000 if not for the rest of the car's life (Mercedes Benz). Had I believed this alcohol smelling individual, I would've been severely under financial distress!
