Customer Complaint - I (56 years old) and my wife (53 years old) were travelling from Jamnagar, Gujarat to Chennai yesterday - 10 Feb. I had booked an Air India flight (IC-148) from Jamnagar to Mumbai and a Jet Airways flight from Mumbai to Chennai. I had given sufficient time between the two flights. The Air India which is supposed to depart from Jamnagar by 11.45 in the morning was delayed and the flight left by 13.20 in the afternoon and reached Mumbai by 14.45. Because of the delay of 1 hour 45 minutes, I was not able to board the Jet Airways flight that was scheduled to depart by 15.25. This was purely because of the fault on Air India but they totally washed their hands at the Mumbai Airport. Even the Deputy Manager refused to help us in this regard. The CITIZENS CHARTER of Air India (Domestic) mentions that the passenger will be refunded or at least helped by making alternate arrangements to reach the destination. I was refused both. I had to go through a lot of Mental Agony along with my wife who was unwell. Air India directed us to reach out to Jet Airways and we were made to pay 11300 rupees to buy new tickets to reach my destination. This is worst way to treat customers. I need a proper explanation for this and an end to such treatment of customers. I do not understand why even old people are treated so badly. I would never recommend Air India to others. In fact I would even go to the extent to make sure that all my acquaintances do not use Air India's services if I am not given a proper reply.
