Modem disconnects

What should i do to avoid disconnects after 5-10 minutes?

-i have reinstalled windows

-there is no virus

-broadband care techs have checked on their laptop and no such problem was there they say windows might be corrupted

-disconnects on downloading something or on loading any page

-i used my friend's properly working modem and still there was such problem

please help!
