I have purchased HP F4185 AIO (printer cum scanner) in 2008 and i've also purchased 3-year extended warranty (tll 2011).
Recently the software is giving problems and continuous error messages. i visited website and no solutions listed for such errors.
i tried HP diagnostic utility available on the website. But no use. i uninstalled and reinstalled software. no difference. I contacted HP customer care helpline (18004257737). They asked for the seral no of my machine and model and told me to visit their website.
i again came back to the website and contacted through email support. One day they asked for serial number, the next day they asked for proof of purchase.
I sent them the invoice with date of purchase, model no, serial no and also which mentions the 3-year extended warranty.
the next day they asked what my problem is and next day they asked for screenshots and the next day suggested to uninstall the software and download the fresh drivers from the website. I did it. But no difference.
i contacted them again. then they asked for proof of purchase again stating that my product might be out of warranty. if i can prove, they said that they will update their database first and later consider providing their great and wonderful technical advice through email... HP India must be proud of its technical staff. Gradually losing concern for the problems of customers.
