Hello,

I bought an Acer Notebook Aspire 5745 on 19th Octber 2010 from Sigma Mall, Lalbagh Lucknow. Within 8 months the LCD started to malfunction. I have visited the service centre on 16th June and registered my complaint (case id: 061611-196). I was informed that the LCD will be replaced within a week at the latest. Acer did not replace the LCD within a week as promised. When I called them on 22nd June, they promised me that the issue would be resolved by 25th June for sure. Even on 25th I did not receive the new LCD. When I called them, I was informed that they would take 2 to 4 days more to get the LCD as the supplies had not come from Bangalore. They have been saying this from the beginning.

I informed them that it is unacceptable that a new netbook malfunctions within 8 months and the part is not replaced even after two weeks. I asked them for the telephone number of the national head of customer service. They said that they do not have the number but gave me the toll free number 180030002237 and an email address [email protected]. Calling the toll free number was not of much help either. I bought the Acer netbook for work purposes and its malfunctioning is causing me enormous hardship.

I must say with great restraint that I am disappointed with Acer’s netbook and its after-sales service and would not advise others to purchase their netbooks.
