Poor customer service

I had bought a laptop from Online IT Shoppe, located near Valanjambalam, Cochin some months before. The laptop model was Toshiba L640 and it was bought on 20-09. The purchase was made on ready cash and hence the cash receipt was also given to me. After the purchase, I was not given any bill, but the cash receipt containing the model number and date of purchase was given to me. I understand that most of the vendors do not give "warranty card", but the reciept/bill needs to be produced as a proof. Hence I kept the receipt with me safe.

After 11 months, on 30-08, my laptop got damaged and I took it to Toshiba Service Centre. The service centre authorities insisted that they can repair the laptop, provided they need to get a copy of the bill either by hand delivery or by scanned copy emailed to them. Since due date of warranty period was nearing, they told that it is highly necessary to produce the bill. For getting a copy of the bill, I had to make many calls to Online IT Shoppe Office, Valanjambalam. To my surprise, the people who attended the phone was making ambiguous statements.

My wife also contacted them. The lady who took the phone responded that "Bill will be provided by Sam Sir. Please come when Sam Sir comes.". On the next day, when I called the office, the person responded that "Madam has not come, we cannot give the bill". Considering the urgency of the situation, I visited the shoppe on 02-09. I had to travel one hour from my home to reach the shop and despite of all the difficulties, I managed to visit the shop. Yet I was not provided with the bill telling that "Madam has not come".

Today, on 03-09, my wife visited the shop and requested the copy of the bill. The lady sitting in the reception denied to give the bill and told that "You need to wait for one more hour". Being disgusted with these poor customer service, my wife told them that she will report this issue to Managing Director. Suddenly the lady took the print and gave the duplicate bill to my wife.

It is suspected that the company is following some hidden/wrong accounting practices. Otherwise why should the staff be reluctant in providing the information requested?

When we told we will escalate this issue to MD, why the staff gave the bill suddenly?

These kind of childish attitude and service from Online IT Shoppe is highly disappointing.
