Non repair of phone under warranty

I purchased a Blackberry curve 8520 on 31st Jan'11 from The Mobile Store in Bangalore. In July'11 it started giving problem wherein I was not able to dial any number & the key pad was behaving erratically. I visited the Lajpat Nagar service centre of Blackberry on 30t July & deposited my handset for repair. They asked me to collect the phone within 8-10 days. However, till 2nd Sep I didn't get any call or mail from them. When I called on 3rd Sep, they said mail was already sent. (But when I checked in the evening I found that the first mail was sent on 3rd Sep afternoon after I talked to them.)Anyway, I was informed that as water has gone inside, the phone can't b repaired. I opted for payment for the repair. But they said it can't be repaired. Instead they charged Rs.180 for inspection and said mother board can be replaced with a chage of Rs.6000 & with three months warranty.

I am surprised that a company like Blackberry maked such inferior quality product which does not last even for six months & for a device under warranty they ask for inspection fee.

I would request all other customers to make a noe of this & think twice before making a choice.
