Y'day, I alongwith my son approached the above showroom at the above mentioned address with a big name board of NOKIA displayed from outside to buy a mobile of midium range to be given to the mother of my kids on the occasion of MOTHER'S DAY.
While evaluating the mobiles of different companies the concerned sales man advised to go for LG- gu285 model of SL.no.005cqzp420997 AND imei no.358749-03-4209973, and explained lot of features of the said phone, one amongst them was Insurance with United India Insurance co, for THEFT of mobile, which did appeal me a lot because most of the features are common in all the mobiles, and to that effect he showed me a manual referring to the same with pre-printed format etc. Believing his version to be true, I purchased the mobile vide their Invoice no.789 dt.08.05.2011 and paid a sum of Rs.4488/- against the Inv.amt.of Rs.4400/- which was clarified to be the amt.of 2% of the Inv.value, if it is paid thru Debit card.
Today while going thru the Manual given by them, It was to my shock and surprise that the so called Insurance of Handset against THEFT was valid only upto 10.03.2010 only and not therafter
I intend to refer to and rely upon the Inv. Manual and other docs.as and when warranted.
I fail to understand as to how a reputed showroom like MKM can mislead a public while selling their products, knowing well that the scheme, which they were referring to had already expired and no longer in force on the date of purchase.
Further, they have been collecting the 2% Bank charges in a clandestine way without displaying the same at their show room.
Hence it will be in order to direct them not to mislead the public while selling the products and they should not accept any cards Debit or credit and transaction must be on cash system only.
Let them rectify the deficiency immdly.
Thanking you
