I got this dealer's details from Morphy Richards Website & contacted Mr Vikram on phone to purchase the OTG . He delivered it through his person at my transit address at ISKCON TEMPLE at KOLKATA on 28.03.2011 where I had come for shopping from MAYAPUR as he said that he is a distributor & does not have the showroom & will be delivering the piece directly from factory godown.
My wife used the OTG for making cake at 150 degree at bake option but the heating element did not become off even once in more than 1.5 hours which means that thermostat is not working properly in baking option. However, the whole cake got burnt which confirms that temperature in the oven was much more than 150 degree but because the thermostat was not working properly in baking option & hence the heating elements did not become OFF & the whole cake got burnt.
As I am posted away from my family, I could not contact the dealer immediately. But when I visited my family at Mayapur, West Bengal (International head qtrs of ISKCON) in May I logged the complaint in customer care toll free number on 14th or 15th may, (Complaint No 170484), but the service agency
refused to attend the complaint that he will not do any repair of Morphy Richard as he deals with only bajaj.
Then I again logged complaint on 17.05.2011 (Complaint no 172810)
The toll free executive gave me telephone nos of Mr B N DAS, Mr Soumitra, & Mr Ashish Sengupta of West Bengal Region.
Mr Soumitra sent one mechanic to my residence near 21st May, but he could not do any repair.
Then Mr Soumitra promised to send senior mechanic on 26th May & told me if the OTG is not repaired, he will replace it.
The senior mechanic came to my residence on 26 th May, but he could not repair the OTG even after consuming 5 to 6 hours & went back to Kolkata.
Then on contacting Mr Soumitra, he told that 45 ltrs OTG is designed in such a way that it cannot achieve temperature of 150 degree in baking option which is a absurd statement as the temperature is already coming more than 200 degree which is making cake to burn.
Moreover, as the heating element is not becoming off at pre set tempeature of 150 degee even after the OTG is ON for more than 1.5 hrs to 2 hrs, it clealy means that Thermostat is not working properly in baking option.
Then I contacted Sri Ashish Sengupta on phone, but to my great surprise, he endorsed the statement of Sri Soumitra & told me that the OTG is perfectly alright & I am unnecessarily not satisfied. He said "If you want, & if you are coming to Kolkata, bring the OTG & we will do research work on your OTG just for your satisfaction otherwise we are fully confidant that there is no defect in this piece."Then I requested them to check this phenomenon in another piece, but he flatly refused that it is not possible at all.
I extended my leaves (half pay leave losing approximately Rs 1500/per day for more than 5 days to some how get the solution of my problem), but it went in vain.
Then I went back to Assam to join my duties, but till now, my problem is not answered by MORPHY RICHARDS.
I request you to help me & guide me how to proceed further to get the solution.
