Complaint against Onida Service Centre and Next Dealers

Hi,

I have bought an Onida air conditioner 1.5 ton split unit on the 14th March and it is giving me a lot of issues for the past 8 months. I have complained several times for the same but the service provided by your company is pathetic. The latest being on 3rd Nov.

Complaint No: 10115656380051.

The Onida air conditioner had the following issues mentioned by your engineer in the job sheet:

1. Motor faulty. A/C swing is not working.

2. No cooling at all.

3. Cropper pipe is damaged open from backside.

The engineer replaced the motor within warranty and the swing started working but there was no cooling. The engineer said that during the first time installation, the cropper pipe installation was not done correctly. Unaware of this, we paid complete charges Rs.1800/- for first time installation. Now, the cropper pipe was replaced but is left open by the engineer. The engineer told the person present at the site that the ac is working even when there was no cooling. He deliberately wanted us to sign the job sheet.

The engineer forcibly himself signed on the sheet and closed it. He demanded Rs. 2400/- as charges. 1700 for re-installation and 700 for the new pipe.

How can the company demand for re-installation even when the installation was done incorrectly the first time?

Refusing to pay him, the engineer left the site without the customer signing it.

I spoke to Sudhir, manager at Next dealers at Ulhasnagar Camp 3 from where it was purchased and Shailendra from your repair centre. After speaking with them for 2 hrs Shailendra agreed to settle the issue at Rs. 700 and said that the engineer will come the next day for solving the issue. The guy came the next day to collect the payment of Rs. 700 and said that the engineer will come later.

After repeated follow up's with Sudhir (Manager at Next dealer) and Shailendra. Both are deliberately harassing us and demanding to pay up the pending amount and then they will send the engineer for repairs. YOUR COMPANY PEOPLE ARE NOW BEHAVING LIKE RECOVERY AGENTS. I have voice recorded conversations of both of them.

If no action is taken against Mr. Shailendra and Mr. Sudhir within 24 hrs of the receipt of the mail alongwith the repairs done to the air conditioner, we would be going to the PRESS and the CONSUMER FORUM.

The following payments have been done since buying the ac.

1. 21000 (cost of ac) 1800 (installation)

2. 700 for another fault a few months back.

3. 700 for the new pipe that was fixed.
