POOR AFTER SALES SUPPORT

I HAVE BOUGHT ONIDA G720 HANDSET 5 MONTHS BACK. RECENTLY THE BATTERY DEVELOPED SNAG AND AS THE SAME IS UNDER WARRANTY PERIOD I GAVE THE SAME FOR REPLACEMENT AT THE AUTHORIZED SERVICE STATION MOBILECARE AT C.G.ROAD, AHMEDABAD, ON 05.04.2011. I WAS ASSURED THAT THE SAME WOULD BE REPLACED IN A DAY OR TWO. INSPITE OF DAILY FOLLOW-UPS THE SAME HAS NOT BEEN REPLACED ALTHOUGH TODAY IS THE NINTH DAY. THE STANDARD REPLY OF THE CUSTOMER CARE PERSONNEL IS THAT THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE REPLACEMENT BATTERY TILL DATE AND IT WILL TAKE 2-3 MORE DAYS FOR THE REPLACEMENT TO ARRIVE. IT SEEMS UNBELIEVABLE THAT A SMALL BUT IMPORTANT COMPONENT LIKE A BATTERY IS NOT AVAILABLE AT A METRO CENTRE LIKE AHMEDABAD AND IS TO BE FETCHED FROM SUCH A REMOTE AND DISTANT PLACE THAT IT IS TAKING MORE THAT 10 DAYS FOR THE SHIPMENT TO ARRIVE. FED UP WITH THE RESPONSE OF THE CUSTOMER CARE PERSONNEL AT AHMEDABAD SERVICE STATION, I SOMEHOW TOOK THEIR SENIOR EXECUTIVES NO. AND CALLED HIM AND GOT AN ASSURANCE THAT THE BATTERY WOULD BE SENT FROM VADODARA TO AHMEDABAD TODAY AND THE SAME WOULD BE HANDED OVER TO ME TOMORROW. IT BEATS ME IF THE BATTERY COULD HAVE BEEN BROUGHT FROM VADODARA WHICH IS 100 KMS AWAY FROM AHMEDABAD, HOW ON EARTH IT TOOK 10 DAYS FOR SOMEBODY TO FETCH IT. IT IS AN EXECELLENT EXAMPLE OF A VERY POOR AFTER SALES SERVICE. HOPING TO SETTLE MY COMPLAINT BY TOMORROW OR ELSE WILL UPDATE MY CASE HERE TOMORROW.
