Last week I bought one of the product (Almond Be Delicious) of California Confectionery Industries (no address available on the product) from "ARAMBAGH CHICKEN", located at Baisakhi Market, AG Block, Salt Lake, Kolkata. the packet was attractive, shopowner was positive, so i purchased it by paying Rs. 55/- (in the packet, price of the product not mentioned anywhere). In fact we are very fond of Almond chocolates, specially my son. I came home and gave the packet to my son. He opened one chocolate and immediately after putting it inside his mouth, threw it with... I surprised and tasted one and had a horrible experience. Its rotted one. I mean Almond inside is fully rotted. i tried one more to see, whether the condition is same in case all chocolates and witnessed the same. Question is that why an innosent customer have to taste or digest a rotted product by paying money. Rs 55/- is not at all a matter. Matter is the reputation reputation of the company, our trust and of course our health. I had the contact number of that shopkeeper (09830736600). I contacted him over telephone, just to convey my concerned about the product. His surprise reply was that as you (me) have already opened the pack, the only alternative is that my (shopkeeper's) family members will have to eat it as Company will not take back the product, since it is opened. I told him that I never asked him to take back the product or return me back the money. I just wanted to know why they are selling such rotted stock / product in retail, without considering the health hazard of the customers. And how a customer can judge the quality unless it is opened and tasted. Still I kept the remaining / unused chocolates with me. In the attractive packet of the product, there are web site address (california-confectionery.com), E Mail address ([email protected]) and a Mobile No. 09330629640, for any question, comments or complaints on quality of the product. I tried to lodge a complaint through E mail, its failed as no such address exists. Then I checked web site address and found no such site is available. Lastly tried the mobile no, it was switched off. I doubt that some malpractice is going on, otherwise why no postal address of the company written on the product, why non existing email and web site addresses are printed. The question is that if the company is non existant or fraud one, then how the product came to "ARAMBAGH CHICKEN" at Salt Lake, Kolkata. This shop has to answer it.
