Meals on wheels/IRCTC
Serving rotten food and dealing indecently with customers

After trying all other options i finally am resorting to this forum with the hope that all those railway travelers who are traveling by Sampark kranti express (karnataka) do not get cheated and frustrated the way i got.the issue goes like this...

On 21st of my 2011 i was traveling from secunderbad to delhi along with my wife.since sampark kranti express is regarded as 2nd to rajdhani, we did not bother about our fooding, relying on the caterer in that particular train. In lunch, we ordered for a veg. meal. Even though the quality of food was not at all commensurate with the price (rs 65), we paid rs 130 without any questioning, as others did.our frustration got manifold when we discovered that in dinner also we got the same food as in lunch, the same matter paneer and aalu sabji, giving us a strong impression that the passengers were served a food that is cooked once, i.e in the morning.this time also we paid money, knowing that we do not have any proof to back our allegation.

The following day morning we bought a bottle of a softdrinks (Mirinda, batch no. MD110). Our frustration reached its last limit when the pantry fellow charged us rs 25 where as the mrp printed on the bottle was rs 22.when asked about this, he told us to go and meet their manager. Quite naturally, we did not pay the unreasonable amount and insisted on paying the mrp only. Immediately after this, that gentleman of pantry behaved in such an indecent way that everyone present in that coach (S4) got surprised. Nobody would ever imagine that customers can be treated this way. Since we did not have change money, I gave rs 25 to that gentleman assuming that he would return me the balance 3 rupees. But he just took that money and went away. Unable to bear this humiliation, I immediately rang up on the number (one Delhi number) printed on the pamphlet provided by pantry car (Meals on wheels). The response from the other side was only few words, giving me the impression that he also is least bothered about customer’s agony.

Its not just about 3 more rupees or a tasteless food. Its about how customers are being treated where there is neither any competitor nor any body to check the quality. After paying all the money irrespective of the quality, being treated so roughly by the food caterer (meals on wheels), makes us feel that we are at the mercy of them.
