I ordered a sofa set and a center table for Ideal Furniture on 2 Jan and was told that it will be delivered within a week. The center table that I selected was told to be "imported" and the sales person said that they will just polish the piece and send it. He also refused to give any warranty for the same. After repeated follow ups, post the due delivery date, the person said that the table was taking longer to make. On asking why is the table which was imported being made, he said that he did not know correctly and that now they will make the table. Some more follow up calls and the sofa set was delivered around 19-20 January and the complete payment (including for center table) was made to them. The sales person said that center table will be delivered in next 2-3 days. Again follow ups and the table was finally delivered on 29 Jan. My husand was in a hurry and did not check thoroughly, and the next day we discovered that the table had one shaky leg. The color of the wood was also different from the one we had selected. I called them up again to complain about the shaky leg of the table, and they said they will send someone at my place to come and fix it. Later the guy said that the carpenter could not find my house and will come again the next day. Noone turned up for 2 weeks and I called again to check. The sales guy said that the table has to be bought to the workshop and he will send someone to collect it on 22 Feb and deliver back in 2 days. Today is 25 Feb, and noone has come to take the table.
I am extremely disappointed by the service and the behavior of the sales guy, who had no courtsey to talk to the customer. I spoke to the store manager who just apologized and did not do anything further. This is cheating, as they took the entire money before delivering all goods and delivered faulty goods and do not take any ownership/ responisbiltity to fix it.
Appreciate if something can be done on this forum and would also like to know the legal route to be taken for this.
