My brother in law who was having severe pain in his kidney was admitted in BL Kapoor Hospital (New Delhi) after having consultation with Dr. Sunil Prakash. Initially it took almost 5-6 hours to get the room where the patient was suffering from the acute pain and no one in the hospital bothered about this. The pain was still increasing and then some team of doctors came on visit and gave their different opinions, whereas they were not able to identify the problem. The frustrating part was that patient has to explain FIVE times to different doctors about his pain and problem, whereas none of the Dr.was able to catch the disease. The team of Doctors had asked for some medical tests, which required the patient blood and since my brother in law whole body was swollen, therefore no one of their helpers or junior doctors were able to locate out the nerve to take out the blood. Later on it was decided to call "Anesthesia Specialist" from OT to take out the blood. Whole night he was in a pain and around 3PM when patient was not able to bear the pain i called the Junior Doctor and explained him about the patient condition. Since patient was continuously taking strong pain killer injection called "fortwin and phenergan, and while doing the medical checkup it was specifically mentioned to not to use the same injection, in spite of knowing this fact Doctor had injected him the same injection.
Next morning we got a receipt from the billing deptt. to submit Rs.15000, where the total outstanding was Rs.34000.We were shocked to see the bill amount as it's not even 12 hours and they built up the huge bill amount. When i consulted with Dr. Sunil Prakash he suggested me to discharge my Brother in law in spite of knowing that he is suffering from pain and said that he is addicted to the medicine and nothing can be done. He didn't even checked the test report for which we spent Rs 28000 and asked us to take our patient back. I was so disappointed with the response of Doctor and requested the hospital management to provide some concession on the outstanding amount, but from the lower level to High level everyone was so self centered they didn't even consider my request and mentally harassed me and my patient.
I strongly recommend even if you are dying please don't go to BL Kapoor hospital, their staff was very non cooperative, they treat people like ANIMAL, no value for man life. These type of practices should be stopped and doctor should consider the patient problem.
