Clarification

I have come across the possibility of cancellation of a policy. Is there a provision to cancel Bima Gold policy (179) during the cooling off period after payment of first annual premium? or, is it possible to modify the policy by opting to reduce the sum assured? i have been denied both the above recently even after making a written request [to modify as mentioned above]a week after payment of 1st annual premium for a policy of 5 lac for 12 yr term as i was not satisfied with the terms. kindly clarify.
