NG Nursing Home, Kalighat, Kolkata
Violate the Doctor's instruction and misbehieve by the Manage

Dear All,

It is very shocking to say all the things which is happening with our paitnent who has been admitted in the NG Nursing Home, 23, Southern Avenue, Kolkata.

My Father in Law came to Kolkata on 19/12 from Coochbehar. He reached at 11 am at our house, Sourthern Avenue just opposite to NG Nursing Home. He found some problem in his chest after reaching Home. On that time we were in the office. On that time my Mother - in -law called Dr. Supriya Mukherjee. He was busy with other paitent and gave some medical advice and we followed the same. After taking the medicine he found relief but in the evening again the pain relapsed. Dr Mukherjee came to our house and after thorough checkup he adviced admission to NG Nursing Home in the ICU department.

We Followed the same.

Next Day (20.12.2011) Dr. Mukherjee adviced to call to Dr. Soumitra Kumar Renowned Cardiologist and he came to the Nursing Home at 3.00 p.m. After checkup and doing ECHO he gave instruction to the Nursing Home authority to monitor through Holter Monitoring from next day and it should start from next day morning.

21.12.2011 when my wife meet the paitent he told that the Holter Monitoring has been started at 6. p.m and it would be removed on the next day at 6. p.m. But the Doctor had informed us that he would dischared the patient on the morning of 22.12.2012 at 10. a.m.

It is to be noted that check out time of the nursing home is at 12 Noon after which they are liable to charge for another day.

When my wife asked the reason about the delay in the Holter Monitoring the authority gave the Childish reply that they could not arrange for a proper machine in due time and that they have now arranged for a good one. Moreover they didnot even inform the Doctor about the same. Ignoring their fault they have also charged another day's room charge as the patient has to remain in the Nursing Home till 6 p.m. In the evening we met Dr. Mukherjee and explained everything. He was not happy with their (Nursing Home) activity. He told me that he will give the discharge certificate the next morning and said that we could bring the patient Home along with the Holter Machine.

Again we went to the Nursing Home and wanted to talk with the concerned person. At first they tried to ignore us. Then they gave the line to the Manager. On the line he behieved rudely and said that they would not leave the patient with the machine and that we are bound to pay one day extra payment.

Question arises:

1. Nursing Home Authority has ignored the Doctor's instruction.

2 .Are they taking proper care of the patient. For 8 Hours they ignored the Doctor's instruction

3. It was their inablity not to arrange the Holter Mechine.

4. Are we the person to pay for their fault.

5. What is the real intention behind this - to earm money at any cost.

Waiting for your reply.

With Regards,

Tapas Parbat,
