Hi
Im using BSNL 3G for the past 6 months and when I first bought the connection the speeds were good with an average speed of 3.5 Mbps though the promised speed is 7.2 Mbps.
recently I have moved to the 6 months unlimited plan i.e Rs. 4200/- for six months and I was told by the customer care that the speeds will be 7.2 Mbps but practically I will be getting 5 Mbps depending upon the signal reception. I live in an area where BSNL signal strength is full and now BSNL has capped the speed limits to 2 Mbps and many times the connection will be active but data transfer doesnt take place, even though if data transfer takes place the speed will be 0.6 Mbps at max. I have checked with 3 to 4 different computers running different operating systems and also tried to check the speeds in different locations. But all these attempts were of no use as there is no problem with the hardware Im using but the only problem is with BSNL as they are limiting the 3G speeds to 2 Mbps.
I even tried calling customer care (they pick up the call once in a blue moon) and all i hear from them is that speed depends on signal strength and they ask me to reinstall drivers and restart computer. They have got no clue about 3G at all and they are not technically experienced people.
so people, my sincere suggestion is not to buy this product as Im not the only one suffering from this issue but there are a lot of people on the net who has the same problem.
