To all the present and future Airtel customers,
This is my update for the previous complaint. Here is my true nightmarish story with Airtel broadband. Before this nightmare, I was a true and all time loyal customer to Airtel. I admired for their services and devotions towards the customers. But after this case Airtel lost my faith and trust, and I will never support Airtel again till my last breath.
1. On 11th November my one close friend gave me the contact number of an Airtel agent (Santhosh -9632313731). I contacted him to come and meet me in my room, and enquire whether it is possible to get connection in my area or not. He came at about 7.30 pm in the evening. He showed me all the plans and I selected for unlimited 1 mbps plan @1699 p/m. Finally I told him, that after my board exam I shall be taking the connection. I also requested him to come on 6-7th December with application form.
2. I decided not to go my hometown for winter vacation and spend time with internet. I rang Santhosh on 5th December to come with application form. He came and I submitted my required documents, and paid Rs. 1000 for installation charges. He even charged extra Rs. 100 as an excuse for rotary seal and legal proof (later I asked in Airtel office, they told me it is not necessary). After filling up the form and before leaving the room he assured me that I would be getting connection on either Monday or Tuesday (7th-8th December) by sending his technician.
3. Monday and Tuesday I waited continuously in my room by canceling trip even to Tirupati with my college mates. I called to the agent and asked when his technician would be coming. He replied that they will be coming at 6.00 pm in the evening. But no news ever since.
4. On Wednesday at 10.30 am I went to Airtel office, and showed the reference number to the executive. The lady executive called the agent and assured of getting connection on that evening. I waited till 6.30 pm. I must also say that while me and a friend readying to go Airtel office at 6.45 pm, my friend met a major accident with his bike. But later, I again went alone in Airtel office at 7 pm. And again the executive called the agent same as was in the morning. So no result.
5. Next day I waited till 12 noon, but no response. So when I was going Majestic in the bus one Airtel official called me for verification. Due to inconvenience the line got disconnected, and there was a misunderstanding between us. Later I tried calling him again, but he never received the call.
6. On Friday and Saturday was also no concern from their side.
7. In between I called Customer Service 3 times. I gave my reference number to them, and they told me it was already updated in their office and my name is registered. Most shocking was to hear when they informed me that there is no feasibility at this moment to get connection in my locality, and it will take 10-15 days to get connection. So why I was told to get connection within 4 days, and instead I could have left for my hometown.
8. I received a message from the Airtel Customer Service person Manoj Kumar Srivastava to give my contact details. I did accordingly but no any response yet.
9. Worst thing is that, the agent Santhosh is also not receiving my calls. That only means he cheated me.
10. Another worst thing is going to happen if they send me false bill next month even without getting connection yet. I enquired, and found many such cases are there for bill without connection. I cannot say now what I will do if my temper reaches 100%.
Now you can understand from these points how incompetent, careless, disqualified and disgusting is Airtel, by giving wrong information they are attracting the customers. Even their agents are also fraud. They are playing number games, and no concern with quality service. Now, I am planning to book my flight to go my hometown and enjoy my holidays. When I will be back in February, I will take the necessary steps to get back my Rs. 1000.
