I had a Airtel broadband connection more than a year, we want to vacate Chennai house so I want to surrender it in end of dec So I called the customer care, they arranged one person to collect the modem, phone and he called the billing department from my home itself, on the spot he gave me bill and I paid the money and he gave me a receipt.
But from feb onwards I was start receiving calls from Airtel people to pay my outstanding bill, I explained to them all the story . but from March onwards I was receiving calls from various Airtel people from different numbers and different times, some days even 4-5 times they called me ..even though I explained them the whole story …in April I received an email from crm marketing team, saying that they going to forward my issue to legal team, I mailed them again the whole story. I thought they got the information, so I was peace till 28 th August morning 11 am, but here comes the total harassment from Airtel..
1. One person called me, introducing himself that he is working as section officer (govt employee) in Delhi court and he said I have to appear for the hearing in the Delhi court at 12 pm (within one hr) as is waiting for me in the court.
2. He never said the detail of the case, after my shock and asked him several times, what is the case and what is it related …he gave one number for Sadhana Kausik and told she is Govt lawyer who is handling my case.
3. I called Sadhana Kausik to find out what is my case…she is the top actress, acting like with questions like “ who are you? how u got my personnel number, who gave u? ”
4. Because of this questions I want to cut the call, but she told me call back in 2 min, I called her again she told my entire issue now, like I have to pay Airtel pending amount about 2700 Rs.if I wont pay or not apper in court within 1 pm ..the court will fine me 63000 Rs. She used my tensed stage she told just pay the bill amount to Airtel counter and tell her receipt number, then she will inform it to court within 1 pm..actually i was travelling outside Chennai and the Airtel offices in small towns won’t accept Chennai bills. So I was unable to do any action.
5. Around 1.30 pm the section officer (actor) called me and asked whether I settled the issue, I said I am outside Chennai, immediately he kept the phone.
I enquired my own lawyer and friends circle, came to know that this is Airtel’s fake drama …..I also saw in the consumer forum that Airtel team doing this stuff for lot of persons…and even Airtel have team of Gundoos…Thatha groups.
But my question here is, I am a genuine customer, paid all my bills regularly during my usage of more than a year and also surrendered the entire modem, phone with final settlement till date.
The Airtel claims for my non usage time (after my surrender of the connection).
If similar issues with anyone, can join with me we can proceed to court and file a case to stop the Airtel operations in India..and make public awareness about Airtel's activities
