Chennai city traffic police
Unfair penal action, and arrogance

I had parked my car on the sides of the Nungambakkam High Road today (Sunday at around 5 p.m), and was harassed with locking the wheels, and a fine of Rs 200.

Even when I indicated to the charging officer that there was no 'NO PARKING' sign anywhere in the vicinity he was so arrogantly responding that no sign is required, and no vehicles are supposed to be parked on either side of the Main Roads. If that is true then how come hundreds of vehicles blocking the traffic flow are parked all through the day on both sides of the road at St. Mary's Road, Alwarpet, Chennai 18?

More than the unfair treatment it is the indifferent manner in which he was not even responding to my queries which irks me even more. He even forbid the driver from giving me an explanation!! Am I not entitled to what I am being fined for, and that why is that NO PARKING signs are missing at the place where I was being penalised?

ARROGANCE at its height, and merely because they have the law in their hands? When will the general public be respected, and given dignified reactions?
