My balance transfer cheque for Rs.20, 000 issued by ICICI Bank in favour of State Bank of India Credit Card was lost after dropping it into the SBI drop box. From the beginning of the episode to the end of realisation of the fact ICICI was falsely claiming that the cheque was not lost and it had been encashed by the SBI in whose favour the instrument was whereas the SBI was strongly denying it. After it the ICICI started recovery of the instalment of the LOST CHEQUE and interest imposed there on knowing perfectly that the cheque was under dispute and lost.
After continuour efforts of the customer i.e. me the ICICI Bank realised its blunder mistake after apporximately six months period and accepted that the instrument was not encashed by the S.B.I. and advised me to visit local branches of the ICICI Bank at Kanpur to receive another cheque in place of lost cheque. On approaching to loacal branches, the branches did not help at first instance and showed their inability to issue the fresh cheque.
Thereafter lot of problems and disgust was felt and then only the ICICI Mall Road issued a fresh cheque in place of lost one. But the story of continuous problems yet not came to an end. The date of fresh cheque was more than three months back and, hence, it was useless for the customer. At the final stage of struggle the cheque was got corrected by the bank and the story of lot of problems, disgust and disappointment came to an terrafic end.
I requested bank to take necessary action against the staff of ICICI bank who were responsible for giving false reply that 'instrument was encashed by the SBI and not lost' which ultimately resulted in immensed problems and mental tensions to the customer. But the ICICI Bank never replied in this regard whether any action was taken against the individual / staff concerned or not.
The front of credit card issued by the ICICI is another example of the carelessness of the bank. In the place of my photograph the photograph of some body else (not known to me) has been shown. All requests to change the photograph is still in vain.
This is nothing but an example of the deteriorating conditions the ICICI BANK with high reputations.
