WORST SERVICE & UNABLE TO CLOSE THE ACCOUNT AFTER PAYING THE COMPLETE BALANCE

Hi,

This is a complaint regarding the BARCLAY Banks ironic service. I had enough with this card, I was so darn frustrated that I paid it in FULL and asked to close it. Let me tell you my woes with your bank.

I'm an Assist Manager for a reputed bank and I know how credit card works inside out. I should have known that Barclays doesn't have online access before I had to forcefully apply by their agent. Neverthless, it was my mistake. Anyways, those guys have incorrect information. My Date of Birth was incorrect and something else is incorrect and they blocked my card. I called and told them the CORRECT answers. Don't "I" know my Date of Birth? Don't I know my Mothers Name? The agents who is a moron tells me to call back with CORRECT information as it dint match? WHAT THE HECK? He told me that I don't have an account since the information did not match? Jeez! I was so frustrated that I paid the complete balance in full and called back to close the account. The agent this time asked me my last transactions and I was lucky enough to tell her that I made her a payment and asked her to close this card and send me a conformation. Its been more than 15 days and I never got the conformation. When I called today, there is this agent Divya Tamod who DID not give me her Agent ID or escalate the call to a supervisor. She tells me that I CANNOT CLOSE MY account. I told her thats stupidity and she says answer a call from our office only then your account will be closed. I get a zillion calls in a day for Insurance... Credit Cards... Blah Blah Blah.. Should I receive all those calls JUST to close my account with you guys?? I also told her that I can send a letter if required since I cannot answer all the hunderd calls I get in a day. I work in the night... I cant stay all day for YOUR stupid call? She was adamant and wanted me to ANSWER the calls. She told this repeatedly and was rude on the call. I know the rules of this COUNTRY and Im working with a bank. Thats the kinda service these guys have... It was a night mare..and they told me that there are no supervisors with Barclays and they are being run by a junk Agents who have no sense... and tells people to call back with INCORRECT information: P LoL... Its a lesson for me.. So I hope you guys dont do the same mistake...
