Respected Sir,
I’ve one query regarding my credit card? I appreciate if you help me. I had credit card of Barclays Bank and I purchased some items with Barclays credit card, thinking I’ll pay amount when statement will come but I’ve not received statement as it actually come as per billing cycle and also due to heavy work pressure I forgot to make payment. I totally forgot about my payment towards the Barclays credit card and after 8 months I got call from credit card department regarding my dues. I informed them about not received any statement for my expenses and requested for the statement. They said it’ll delivered within time span of one week. Again I never received statement, this time I called customer care and asked for delayed in statement. At that time I came to know they have wrong address on their communication address. I requested him to send statement to my correct address and after a long time I received statement from them but when I checked the statement, I was shocked as the amount was 4500.00/- with late fees, finance charges for almost 1 year. I contacted customer services and asked about the charges which they charged me. They said they look into the matter and asked me to make payment. As this verbal commitment, I asked for written, they hesitate and insisted for making of payment with late fees and finance charges. I did not make the payment as I know if I make the payment they’ll forget the matter and this will affect to my credit report.(You must know now a day’s credit report is so much important). After one month they came back asked me to pay the actual amount which I spent and assured me that they’ll remove my name from CIBIL report. I made the payment which I actually spent. Now I came to know they put me in default list and now when I’m looking for loan, every bank declining based on bad credit on my credit report.
Please suggest me what to do in this case as the statement went to wrong address and they are not responding my queries on time. They create bad credit for my credit report which is not correct. Should I contact any legal department for this or contact Barclays or Consumer Guidance Society of India for this issue.
