Bill in 4 digit without even swiping the card

I have got this braclays credit card in october. I have yet not detached the card from the introduction letter that came along with the card. After 25 days I got a call for the Barcklays priority circle dept. stating that i have been selected for the priority circle policy where in i am enjoy great benifits. As usual since i do not belive in this credit card companies I asked if the policy was charged or was free. It was very clearly stated by the person communicating with me that the policy was free and there will be no charges i.e. joining fees and any other annual fees for that matter. They will aslo provide me with a strolly bag worth Rs.2500/- absolutely free.

I was told that a confirmation call will be given by one of their executives to confirm the same and the call will be recorded. After few minuted I got this confirmation call from them. Once again I asked the same question to so that i am rest assured that there are no extra charges. It was again confirmed by the compant representative that there is now joining fees nor any annual fees for enrolling in this priority circle policy. So i confirmed to enroll in the policy.

Now on 10th of Nov i am getting this SMS alerts that i need to pay my credit card statement of Rs 6720/-. It was s shock so i tried contacting the custome care dept. but no one picked up the phone. The only thing I followed was the recorded voice messages which made me go through all their dept options and when i finally reached the area where I can speak to the customer care repersentative, no one pickup the phone. This went for five days. Finally if got tired and decided to wait for them to call me for the payments. 2 days after the due date of payment passed i got call from collection department for the payment of the bill. Ms. Vanita was on the line. I told her every thing and also about the charges being laid. She gave me the customer care email add i.e [email protected] I have written a email for helping me solve the payment which i never agreed. But i didn't got any revert from them till date. Today i have written one more mail saying to discontinue service of the credit cards.

The collection dept still keeps on calling me. now i have stopped entertaining their calls. i am very much upset with them. Today again i have got a new SMS alerts saying that my credit card statement of Rs 7709.12 is due and the due date is 25-12.

These people are too much... i will definately move to the consumer court if things dosent move from their end...
