BSNL Broadband modem not working

I have a BSNL broadband connection. Phone number 26423825. I registered a complaint on 29 Apr 09 That my modem was not working properly. Complaint number: 88345148. The response from the call center is extremely poor and they just informed me that they cannot do anything about this and that I have to contact the local office. They gave me 2 phone numbers - one did not exist and the other no one answers. I had no choice but to then register it as a telephone complaint as the broadband department didnt seem to care. Someone came and checked the modem after 2 weeks after the complaint was registered and said the modem was faulty and had to replaced and promised to bring a new modem and we havent heard from them for the past 2 weeks. Today someone called from the telephone department and told me not to register telephone complaints and said the modem could not be replaced since the person who came and checked it had gone on leave for 2 weeks. I guess when someone goes on leave their work comes to a stand still! Lame excuses in this day and age. This man was extremely rude and told me if I wanted to get the problem solved I had to give them a written complaint and meet their chief and banged the phone on me..very shocking indeed..which company would dare to hang up the phone on a customer except a government office? This happens only in India I guess and they do this inspite of knowing that they have a lot of competition with so many private players and all it would take me is a phone call to change my service provider.
