Gentlemen,

Few minutes ago I received a recorded message from you that the above mentioned bill has not been paid till today. The fact is this:

The bil has been paid by cheque (No. 215396, on Central Bank of India, New Alipore), and the amount was cashed on 27.9.08 by the Post Master, Tollygunj Head Post Office.

As such a reminder is very much embarassing and accompanies a threat to disconnection, I ask you to verify it and let me get assured that I have no unjust dues to Calcutta Telephones. As I am an old man, it is not possible for me to take the trouble of meeting your officers personally.
