I have opened an account in mylapore branch of chennai last month. Canara bank takes so much of time to do things, that you will have to put money in their account and forget about it for a few months. It took them 1 week to open an account, 3 weeks to issue a cheque book, their is no word called customer care in their dictionary. they speak to rudely to us, when we call them or go to bank. They say things like you do whatever you want your work will not be done. Even after 1 month of opening the account, they have not yet scanned my signature and fed it into the computer, for me to start using the cheque book. They have not yet issued debit card after 1 month's time, whereas other banks give it in 3 days time. If we call up at the branch, they do not respond and keep us on hold for hours and would not even help us out.
Strict action has to be taken by RBI against this bank, if the bank is not bothered about customers, then it doesnt deserve to exist.
