I am a very dissatisfied owner of a Dec Chevy Aveo 1.4
Issues from Day 1
1. Noise from Shocks when going over bumps. (Suspension has been opened and greasing done atleast 5-6 times already)
2. Underbody vibration on rough roads (Issue was found to be break shoes after 2 years and after GM had changed the linkage, struts etc during the warranty period without any success.
3. I was promised that I could extend the warranty of the car to 4 years after the initial company warranty of 2 years after paying around 8 thousand before the end of 2 years. However GM declined to extend the warranty of the Car stating that the scheme had been closed.
I belong to a Defence Officer Family and we care about our cars (Timely service, no rough rides, Keep it clean, No bad roads). The car only has done 30000 Kms in 3 yrs and you will not believe that today I was told the following at my 30000 service.
1. Noise from Power Steering because power steering is bad. Cost 22000 Approx.
2. Noise from tyres, All 4 tyres need to be replaced. Cost 14000 Approx.
3. Noise from front Shock, cost 3000.
I would like to ask GM the following.
1. In 30000 Kms of Driving, do these components go bad (Tyres and Power steering and front shock)? If so, why were such sub standard components used in this car.
2. In spite of driving in good conditions and with low milage, if I am supposed to Spend so much why would I buy a GM car in the first place.
3. Why was I not allowed to extend my warranty to 4 years in spite of being eligible for it?
4. Is there someone in GM, I can speak to to contact to discuss these issues rather than the outsourced dealership?
5. The car has been to Regent Automobiles in Okhla N number of times regarding these issues and they have a history of the vehicle, my claims can be checked against it.
