Hi,
I am not happy with the answers received from citi bank officers for the charges deducted for my account for foreign currency cheque collection. Please look into the below issue.
I have deposited cheque no 524615 amount $333.58 in Citibank Bangalore in August end. The Cheque was from Citibank USA. Citibank is deducted $75 as service charges and deposited only to USD 258.58 in 25 Sept. In the schedule of charges it is not mentioned. How they can deduct such a huge service charge.
Thanks

Dear Mr. Shreedhar,
This is with reference to your recent contact with us.
Our records indicate that an amount of Rs.12300.65 (Equivalent to USD 258.58 @ Rs.47.57 per USD) has been credited to the above-mentioned account on September 23 through Telegraphic Transfer (TT), against the cheque bearing number 524615.
Further, the aforesaid cheque for USD 333.58 was sent under direct collection. For all direct collection cases, there will be TT/Wire charges which may vary between USD50-USD200 depending on Remitting Bank to Bank to which we sent the cheque for collection.
We confirm that Citibank India does not deduct any amount on account of charges for TT done to the customer's account. Hence, the difference in the amount is the TT charges charged by the other bank.
We request you to contact the remitter or remitting bank for further clarifications.
We assure you of our best attention at all times.
Sincerely,
Jayasri B
