Transfering of connection

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have a connection of my father which i have been using for past few years, for which my father has given a consent letter. The present gas agency is refusing accept the letter and hence the connection is laying idle for the last on an half year. My father is in my native place kerala and invalid. What course of action should i take to resolve this problem since i am fearful of loosing my connection which is too dear to part with.
