Bank Asks For EMI Cheques Even Though ECS is Setup

Sir,

My Deutsche Bank Personal Loan account number is 200005169980019. During the application phase, the DB Rep advised me that they would prefer ECS for the EMI debits and I agreed because I travel a lot and it would be inconvenient for me to give the bank a cheque on a monthly basis. So I advised my bank (Citibank) to enable a ECS mandate for DB. Please refer to the below mail from Citibank stating that as far as Citi is concerned all the formalities are completed.

The issue is that even though the ECS mandate has been set up, Deutsche Bank calls me each month in order to collect the cheque for the EMI and this has happened since the PL account was opened. The ECS was setup within 10 days of the account being opened and there should no reason why DB should call me for the cheques instead of collecting the EMI through ECS. Please help me.

These ECS instructions are routed through RBI with specific Utility Code number, to the customer's bank account for execution. Hence, on receipt of the ECS Debit Advice through RBI, your account will be debited with the respective amount. As we have not received any ECS Debit Advice from the Service Provider " Deutsche Bank " under the Utility Code number 4009696, your account has not been debited for the same.
