I purchased an Electorlux Refrigerator (Model DFF 44) from a dealer (Madhu Electronics – Tel 0253- 2362672, 9371179021) in Nashik. While purchasing this refrigerator the dealer promises every thing about service etc. Since past 3/4 months its auto-defrosting mechanism is not working. When informed to the dealer, he first said that Electrolux service centre in Nashik is closed and he could not help. He sent a service mechanic of LG who brought in another person Mr. Sant, to check the machine. He forcibly opened the back side of the deep freezer and could not find the fault. Finally he said "it is not my profession, I do it as a hobby."
After few days we got hold of another expert, who checked and diagnosed that one of the PCBs which controls the auto-defrosting mechanism has failed and needs to be replaced. Since last over 2 months he has not been able to get that PCB and we have to be careful in operating the refrigerator by switching it off frequently to avoid over frosting.
I am now really fed up with this situation. It is unfortunate that in India and particularly in smaller cities like Nashik the customers are taken for ride by such dealers. I am also not able get the service centre contact details of Electrolux where I could register the complaints. I would appreciate what ever help this forum could provide.
