I am Mr Vipul Maniar, a resident of Garden Estate Co-op Housing Society Ltd, Khopat, Thane (West). I would here by like to complain about the harassment being meted out to me by our society committee members on account of renovation work being carried out by me in my Flat No A-701 of the said residential complex. Since the past month there has been Civil, Carprentry and Painting work going on in my Flat. The society members have been harassing me on almost a daily basis by coming up with some complaint or the other about the same. They are now threatened me that they shall be levying a heavy penalty on me for the small reason that we have not arranged for the lifting of the 10 bags of waste material which are lying in a designated part for the same in the complex and is of no hindrance to any person what so ever. I conveyed to the society secretary taht i shall be doing the needful soon once the quantity is large enough to be feasible for me to load the same in a transport vehicle and dump it at an appropriate site for the same. But, the secretary is adamant that he shall not wait on this matter and he wants immediate action on this matter from us or else we shall be levied a fine for non compliance with him. Please let me know whether the secretary can levy fines like these on an ad hoc basis without any discussion on this matter and also whether he can levy the fine at all in the first place. Here i woul like to add that the secretary himself has captured a common society premise and taken it inside his own house for personal usage and there has neither been a discussion nor any fine levied upon himself. Other members who are close to the secretary have also carried out illegal work in their premises and have not been levied any fine what so ever.
