Pan card number --need help

Hi,

I have applied for the pan card on 12 august, 08 and i urgently need to submit my pan card to my office officials on the day of my joining (as insisted by the company).

Can you suggest me if I can get my pan card number before hand so that I can submit the same at the company...

It's very urgent... Also I will be thankful if you can guide me whom to ask or conctact for the pan caerd number...
