Dear,
I, Rukhsar Saleem has been a resident of Sector 23 A, Gurgaon, from last two years. Public Transport always had been an issue till the time metro started and people can look forward to small autorickshaws in Gurgaon. Therefore, an auto stand was constructed at the main road of sector 23 A towards Palam Vihar.
But from few months, I am regularly witnessing harassment of passengers and its drivers of small autorickshaws by big autowallas. These big autorickshaw drivers usually beat the driver small ones or some people who own these big autos ask for cut in auto fares forcibly. Not only this, they generally decide the fare to be charged.
I personally have been a victim of such practice when I was trying to hire a small auto as it more convenient and prevents risk of overly (12-13 people instead of capacity of 5-6) filled big auto overturns and accidents. They scare the these small autowalas and always ask for Rs 30-40 higher than the normal rates (Although there is no meter to actually decide fare). When I asked him, who has given him the authority to decide the fare or even to stop every auto. He said, "Sab kuch hamare hisab se chalta hai, madam apko baithna hai to itna hi dena padega" (Everything at this auto stand works as per our discretion, If you have to go, You have to this much only".
I have taken pictures of these two fellows who on January 22 tried to scere atleast 4-5 autowalas. They got slightly apprehensive and tried to scare me as well.
I strongly put forward this complaint that how can anyone just spread hoolganism. Police and administration should look into matter as whole Gurgaon already lacks public transport, such things will aggravate the security issues and mishaps especially during late evening. Young working girls and students from ITM university are forced to take lifts from passerby vehicles when there are such gundas hag and overcharge. And Gurgaon already has earned bad name for its notorious behavior in recent past.
Hope for a stringent action and vigilance of city administration to make Gurgaon a better place for females to commute and work.
Best Regards
Rukhsar Saleem
